In most cases, when my clients see high chances for rain, they immediately reschedule. However, when your big day is less than a month away, you work with what you got! when Blanca, Joé, and I began planning their engagement session, they wanted mountains and to showcase the beautiful state where they live in; therefore, we decided to go for the South Mesa Trailhead in El Dorado.
The story behind Blanca and Joé rainy engagement session is pretty simple; we trusted the forecast for the weather since it predicted mininal rain showers and clear by the time our session was supposed to take place. Blanca decided to still go through with the session as their wedding day is quickly approaching. The session stated with no rain and just la few drizzles here and there, but fifteen minutes later, we got rained down a little more. Maybe you could see some of the rain drops in some of these pictures.
Blanca and Joé met at a summer program at Colorado State University before their freshman year of college. They didn't talk that summer as Blanca thought he was too conceited, overconfident. After coming back to Denver they connected through mutual friends. A half a year later they both started to date. Even though they were in different cities, their relationship still managed to blossom. After Blanca graduated from college, she got a job in Denver closer to Joé and they were able to see each other often. They dated for six year and he finally proposed!!! The proposal happened in Florida during Joé's birthday at a golf course where he always wanted to play. That particular day Blanca recalls waking up early to see the sunrise and take pictures during that time. She was not expecting it and remembers how beautiful the proposal was and how they were the only ones at that place during that time.
People say opposites attracts. They both fell in love yet they both have such different personalities. I think they balanced each other pretty well and their chemistry during the session was obvious. Even though they have different personalities to certain extent, they both share the same values and interests as well as their love for God. In the end, she was judging a book by its cover and later realized he is not coincided or over confident but rather loving, caring and outgoing. Lastly, this couple is very family oriented. I can't wait to shoot their wedding soon. I am delighted they picked me to be their wedding photographer.
